Whiskey & Wisdom – Onondaga Community College Foundation Fundraiser

In partnership with Dining Inside Out and Kitty Hoynes, the OCC Foundation is hosting an engaging and educational night full of sensory experiences! Join us for this virtual experience where you will enjoy local and international whiskey tastings paired with small plates.

  • Whiskey flights and food pairing boxes will be prepared ahead of time and ready for local delivery or pick­up the day of the event.
  • Guests will enjoy the food and beverages from the comfort of their homes while connecting via virtual broadcast with our featured guests.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the OCC Foundation so we can assist students with general support and college experience needs. General support includes support for our on campus food pantry, helping students to eliminate technology barriers, supporting important programming on campus, and so much more! What better way to help OCC students than by participating in this unique virtual event!


How It Works:

Guests will purchase tickets by Monday, February 22 at 8 pm.

 

Choose your level! The “Local” box will feature a flight of 3 local whiskeys and three small plate food pairings. The “Top Shelf” box will feature the 3 local whiskeys, plus two of David Hoyne’s personal favorite Irish whiskeys, and five small plate food pairings.

 

Food is also available without whiskey or alcohol purchases.

 

Meals & add-ons will be available for pickup on Friday, February 26th from 12 pm to 4 pm at designated locations. Guests can pick up in Syracuse at Kitty Hoyne’s downtown or at in Auburn at Pure Market & Eatery.

 

Guests will receive an invitation to a live broadcast featuring distillers, chefs, artisans, and more as we reheat and plate the dishes and walk through guided whiskey tastings and tours.

 

This live virtual event will begin at 6 pm on Friday, February 26th. Hosted by Dining Inside Out and Gomez Adams from TK 99 Radio!

 

Private virtual tables are available. Guests will receive an email two days before the event to select their table and indicate which guests they’d like to sit with (family, friends, etc.).

Evening Program:

6pm Cocktail Hour

  • Guests will log on, be ushered by DIO to their private tables
  • Demonstrations focused on Add-On boxes: chocolates by Michael Speach, dessert box by The Sweet Praxis, breakfast box by Pure Market, mixer box demonstration on classic cocktails

7pm Guests are ushered into Main ‘Dining’ Room

Each participating local distiller will do a guided whiskey tasting for their featured style. Food pairings, along with live demonstration on finishing the food at home, will be guided by Dining Inside Out.

After each pairing, take a virtual tour of Lock 1, Old Home, and FLX Distilling.

8 pm Top Shelf Whiskey Tasting

David Hoyne of Kitty Hoyne’s Irish Pub guides us through two Irish Whiskeys from the Top Shelf box while the Dining Inside Out team guides us through the final two food pairings.
